The original Beautyblender sponge

I am very excited to write about the Beautyblender sponge! It seems hugely raved about everywhere, and a must-have in every makeup kit.

Initially, I wanted to purchase mine online because it did not retail in Singapore, but recently I found out that BHG now retails it, and I got my sponges about a month ago there – about $35 or so (I can’t recall now) for 2. If you buy one, it is around $25. (By the way, BHG Bugis and Clementi has this aLT beauty section with a lot of imported beauty items, like OPI and steam cream, and some other brands which you cannot find elsewhere in Singapore. The bulk of the items are from Japan, Korean and Taiwan.)

4 years ago, today

Today is September 11, 2011. The date of September 11 will always be in my memories, not only because of the terrorist attacks in the States a decade ago, but because of what nearly happened to J and I 4 years ago.

Perhaps I can remember it because of the significance of the date, but maybe I can remember it simply because of the lesson we have learnt. Not many people know about this, but now that it has been quite some time ago, I feel very comfortable about sharing this.

This is us, 4 years ago, in 2007.

Awesome ‘Chilli Mee’

Chilli mee. Oh, wait a moment – you mean chilli and noodles, that’s all?

Nope. Definitely no

Situated at Golden Mile Food Centre (below the Army Market), Chung Cheng Chilli Mee is a must-try if you are in the area. Heck. You should make a trip down to eat it if you haven’t. Now!

This stall has been around for quite some time, and I remember eating it as a child. My dad brought me there, and then I recommended it to J. He fell in love with it, just like me. It’s still as awesome, as tasty and as filled with ingredients as I can remember. For $3, you get a bowl of noodles (I like mine dry with soup in a separate bowl) with boiled eggs, tau pok, prawns, pork ribs, fish cake and of course, chilli. Quite a lot of ingredients for $3, right? The soup that comes along is very, very good too.  Read more…

A beautiful afternoon at Yishun Jetty

in Because love ♥, Life as it is

About 3 weeks ago, J and I have been enjoying quite a bit of nature around Singapore. First, it was a car trip back from somewhere (I can’t recall!), and then we, including YC, decided to venture on a road that few cars go on. It was somewhere near the Dairy Farm exit to BKE – a shady, un-urbanized bit of road to a PUB site. We saw the cutest monkeys ever. There were so many of them. Obviously, we sat in the car, with the monkeys peering at us.  Read more…

My sista’s happiest day

Sep 7, 2011 by
in Life as it is

I am just going to add some jot-downs about the beautiful day. Everyone says a sister is a girl’s best friend, and my sister definitely is. It has been only less than 3 months, but I am already missing my sista a lot, even though she does come home quite often for dinners and visits.

18 June 2011 – a day filled with memories that make me want to snuggle down in bed and smile. It has been perfect, from the morning ‘pick-the-bride’, photo shoots and tea ceremony, the afternoon rush of putting on gowns and makeup and the evening of vows, laughter and great food.  Read more…
